Listening Hearts Chapter “Sanctuary”

Please join us this Sunday for a discussion led by Gwen Valore.

This Sunday we will begin our book Listening Hearts with a discussion of sanctuaries. The authors tell us that since people need to feel safe in order to be healthy and productive, they seek sanctuaries. The four types they discuss are places, structures (like laws), relationships, and our inner world. We will begin by sharing Words of the Day. To prepare for this, think about your places of safety considering buildings, rooms, natural areas, relationships, or activities which give you a sense of safety. You may begin the sharing with an opening like, “My safe place is/is like…” and adding a few words or phrases about several of these places.

You don’t need to have read the chapter to participate, but it would be helpful to prepare the exercise. All are welcome.

If you do not have the book, please still plan to join us!

We will hold this service in our Zoom room, which opens 15 minutes before the service begins; please click HERE and follow the prompts to join us.  Alternatively, you can open your Zoom app and enter Meeting ID 740 363 4630. Call Karen at 740.362.1860 for tech support. Bring your favorite beverage to sip while we share in community.
