Racism, Protest, and Trauma

DC protest for George Floyd

Please join us this Sunday, as we continue to understand and dismantle all kinds of oppression.

Racism and white supremacy are systemic, structural issues in our society. Such issues cause trauma to people every day–Capital “T” Trauma, like the murder of George Floyd and so many others, and little “t” trauma, like the constant fear of police or simply waking up in a society that doesn’t want you to achieve your best. Protests raise awareness, help educate, and inspire, and they can also be traumatizing. It’s time to wake up to the fact of our complicity, and arise to embrace diversity. Let’s stop traumatizing each other.
